-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FlavorCone Package -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The FlavorCone package is based on the algorithm described in the "FlavorCone Jets to Disentangle Heavy-Flavor Production" section of: Disentangling Heavy Flavor at Colliders Philip Ilten, Nicholas L. Rodd, Jesse Thaler, Mike Williams. arXiv:1702.02947 [hep-ph]. FlavorCone builds jets around heavy flavor seeds, resolving the issue of overlapping heavy-flavor jets found in traditional approaches. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Classes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following two classes are provided in this package: FlavorConePlugin [FlavorCone.hh]: A FastJet plugin for using the FlavorCone jet algorithm. FlavorConePlugin::Extras [FlavorCone.hh]: Stores extra information for the jets created with the FlavorConePlugin. Particularly, provides access to the input seed associated with a given jet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Usage -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The primary class is FlavorConePlugin, while Extras provides access to the seed for each jet. The basic functionality is given by: // seeds are the input seeds, and rcut is the jet radius cut contrib::FlavorConePlugin jdf(seeds, rcut); // create a cluster sequence in the usual way, // using the input particles from event. ClusterSequence jcs(event, &jdf); // extract jets in the usual way, but do not apply a pt cut // if you want the number of jets to equal the number of seeds vector jets = jcs.inclusive_jets(0); // The following accesses the seed for a given jet from the // ClusterSequence extras. PseudoJet jet = jets[0]; const FlavorConePlugin::Extras* extras = dynamic_cast(jcs.extras()); PseudoJet seed = extras->seed(jet); -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
